CRISIS. BRENNAN: —
SARAH: FAIRFIELD CITY LEADERS
HAVE MADE IT CLEAR THAT THEY DO
NOT WANT TO FILE FOR BANKRUPTCY. ED MAY AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY
COUNCIL MET WITH JEFFERSON
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO TALK
ABOUT THEIR FINANCIAL SITUATION. THE COUNTY IS LENDING THE CITY
SOME OF ITS RESOURCES LIKE THE
COUNTY ATTORNEY. RIGHT NOW EDDIE PENNY TELLS US
THAT THEY ARE WORKING EVERY DAY
TO MAINTAIN THE CITY’S
FACILITIES AND MEET EMPLOYEE
PAYROLL. FAIRFIELD HAS A BIG DEBT PAYMENT
PENNY SAYS THEY ARE MEETING
THESE OBLIGATIONS, BUT IT IS A
STRUGGLE. THEY WILL EXPLORE OPTIONS AND
GET EVERYONE ON THE SAME PAGE. THEY WILL MEET BACK IN JANUARY,
AND, AT THAT TIME, THEY WILL
DECIDE WHETHER OR NOT TO PURSUE
BANKRUPTCY.
