I’m in my 24th year on the board. I was
elected many years ago. I’ve enjoyed my time on the board. It’s been a
interesting time in Mesquite as it’s changed. Our demographics have changed
and our schools have changed along with that for the better. And I’m glad I could be a
part of that change. Probably a couple of things. The
relationships you have with your other board members and with the teachers and
the administrators and also with the students, but also just relationships
with the community and those that we represent as we champion public
education. I’m very proud of our ETIP Program that we came up with. It allows
our best educators to stay in the classroom with our students and be able
to make a wonderful living and a comparable salary with that and keep
them where they’re doing the most effective work.
