Sri Poorna Mahameru trust is located in old Pallavaram area of Chennai in the heart of south India It is an abode for the elders without dependants. The old age home primarily serves senior citizens who have no children. All the needs of the elders are taken care here especially in the final phase of their life, including their last rites. The home has a community kitchen which provides free food for the needy in the society apart from the elders at home. Everyday before Lunch,inmates thank God for the food and also pray for the peace and well being of everyone in the world. On certain days food is provided by donors on their special days like birthdays, anniversaries etc. Inmates say special prayers and thanks for these donors too. The elders spend their time by helping in cooking and also other tasks in the kitchen. There is a two bed hospital to meet the medical requirements of the senior citizens which is also utilised by the neighbourhood community. The home has also tie up with nearby hospitals where extremely sick inmates can be admitted and taken care of. The trust conducts medical
camps and eye checkups for the inmates and general public at regular intervals. The home has a park nearby where the elderly people go for a walk when they feel like. Apart from the Thriveni old age home, 20 rooms at Shanthi Niwas are also available for senior citizens Volunteers from all fields like IT, Banking and other corporate bodies lend a helping hand in running the organisation effectively through CSR events and also on an individual basis. Donations are exempt under 80G of income tax act and the trust is registered and fully compliant with government norms. The trust also has FCRA approval to receive funds from abroad. Give with faith!
