What does an insolvency notice mean for a company? Usually it will mean that a creditor is trying to have that company
wound up. The creditor will get a winding up petition issued by the court and
prior to the hearing of that petition it will advertise the fact
that there is a hearing over the petition and that advert will placed in
the London Gazette and that is what’s known as the insolvency notice. Other
than that if a company goes into either administration or liquidation then the
insolvency practitioner will lodge a notice at Companies House to let people
know that the company is subject to one of those procedures.
